Company of 1000 Study Reserve Fund

The 50% Tuition-Fee Theology Scholarship is administered as part of the Mennonite Church Canada Study Reserve Fund.  It is established to support the training of pastors currently serving the congregations of Mennonite Church Canada. Money from the fund is used to provide 50 per cent of tuition fees for pastors who are studying part time at approved Mennonite Church Canada schools* (including online courses). Several hundred, annual contributors, known as “The Company of 1000,” donate to the Study Reserve Fund, which is administered by the Church Leadership Ministers of the five regional Mennonite Churches and in consultation with the Executive Minister of Mennonite Church Canada.

Please note that:

  • Only the Eligibility Guidelines apply to the 50% tuition scholarship for part time studies.
  • This scholarship application is filled in once only.

Please submit a Course Intent Form for each course you plan to take by the dates indicated on the form.

Study plan and procedure

Please fill in the Course Intent Form.  This form must be submitted for each course you are taking in order to:

  • inform the committee that you are enrolling in a course(s) for which you are requesting a 50% tuition refund.
  • ensure that the committee has allocated sufficient funds to distribute at the end of the respective semester.
  1. Submit* this form of intent for each course you are taking by May 15 for summer/fall semester courses, or by Oct 15 for winter semester courses.
  2. The committee meets at the beginning of June and the beginning of November to process new applications and course intent forms. A confirmation e-mail will be sent after the committee meets.
  3. In order to receive 50% tuition refund, please submit* the following at the end of the semester:
    • A paid tuition-fee receipt
    • A final report of completion from your academic professor
  4. You will receive an e-mail from the Executive Assistant indicating that a refund cheque has been sent.
